today mother nature decided to gift the campus of unc with lots of ice. don't be deceived by its beauty; it is nothing like snow. it is simply annoying and makes you fall. but, it did manage to get morning classes cancelled, so i guess it has one good quality. today i also dropped my phone in my bowl of grits. my poor little blackberry died for half the day, but thanks to another bag of instant grits, it now lives again. people always tell stories of placing their phones in rice or grits when they've gotten wet, so i figured why not. i am quite thankful it's working, and now i can attest to these phone saving techniques. i just wish my poor phone didn't smell so much like buttered grits. oh well - it works!
end note: i think my phone has a love-hate relationship with grits.
