Y the L not?

today we had our first young life club of the semester. there weren't a ton of kids, but we had a lot of fun. it was great to see everyone again and spend time with them.

end thought: what do spam, balloons, and mexican spelling games have in common? they're common things at young life!

today after church, sydney and i headed out to north durham to visit our friend sarah. (hi sarah!) she had acl surgery this week and is at home recovering. (get well soon sarah!) on the way back to campus, we saw this old house/store/barn and decided to stop and take pictures.

end note: anytime i see any old looking building, i want to take pictures there.

unc vs. state

today the tarheels took on nc state. it was not even a game. roy's boys were up the whole time and won by 20 points. i don't mean to hate on state, but sometimes they just call for it. i feel that today is the perfect time for my joke:

q:what's the difference in culture and agriculture?

a: about 30 minutes down I-40.

after the game, jess and drew agreed to let me take their pictures, but it ended up being too dark when went out today. so, we decided that we would resume our photoshoot tomorrow!

to the movies we go...

today after leadership, a big group went to southpoint mall. we got dinner in the food court and then did a little shopping. we had planned to go see "no strings attached," but it wasn't showing til 9:45, so we had a lot of time to kill. the movie was great as was dinner and the time spent wandering around the mall.

end note: sometimes i wish life was like the movies...

lacy green

today i went to the broad street cafe. a mutual friend was playing a show there. it was so great. she has the best singing voice and performed country/americana music. you should definitely check it out: lacygreen.com.

end note: listening to live music is such an enjoyable experience.

sick

today i have not made it out of the dorm. i decided sleep is the best remedy for sickness. there aren't many opportunities for pictures in my room, but here are a few i did find.

bubbles

today my suitemate came out of the bathroom with a big soap bubble that she had made washing her hands. jess and i decided to give bubble making a try too. i'm semi-quarantined to my room, so i decided that bubbles would suffice for today's pictures. they're quite fun! oh, and there's one non-bubble picture, but it was too good not to post!

end note: i think we may have found a new distraction from schoolwork: bubbles!

young life takes on jason deli

today instead of having normal young life club, da-trinity headed to jason's deli for dinner. we had 3 big tables of people, and i think we may have overwhelmed the staff there a wee bit. it was good to see a lot of kids and get to spend some quality time over food and free ice cream!

hello homework

today has been epic homework day. we got back from virginia early this morning, and i went straight to work on catching up, so in light of this, i decided to take a picture of my favorite homework helpers: coffee and my phone!

a mountainy day

today has been a relaxing day on the blue ridge parkway. i've slept, had some quality time with friends, played games, watched a movie, and taken pictures outside. overall, it's been a quality day.

road trip: ben haven

today i left for the mountains of virginia to charlotte's house along with my bible study. we're here for the weekend and are enjoying the beautiful view and good company.
