halloween at the hill

today was halloween, and halloween in chapel hill means franklin street, friends and fun! my house dressed up as pacman characters; it was great. i only have time to upload one picture right now, but look for more tomorrow!

jen turns 21!

today was jen's 21st birthday! yay for the first mcmansion girl being legal! last night we had a little celebration for jen before she headed out for her first legal drink on franklin. we dressed up as party animals for the occasion!

parents brunch

today was parents brunch for adpi. it also happened to be unc's homecoming game against wake forest! (we won drastically) so, this morning we had brunch at the adpi house with all the other parents. it was a lot of fun getting to show mom and dad around the house because they had never seen upstairs, or really even inside, before. better late than never!

parents cocktail

today adpi had parents cocktail. mom and dad came up to chapel hill and are staying the weekend. it's so nice to have them here! plus, they came bearing a heater for my room!

on a side note, parents cocktail is the funniest invention ever. you bring together about a hundred people who don't know each other for a cocktail party... lots of mingling and small talk. regardless, it was great to meet peoples' families and a fun excuse to dress up!

halloween young life club

today we had a halloween themed young life club. everyone dressed up in costumes, which was great. i love seeing what people chose to wear and how creative they are with outfits.

end note: it's a shame i'm too old to trick-or-treat!

mcmansion dance party

today my entire house was home at the same time! this is an incredible occurrence, being that today is not sunday. we were sitting around when we realized that all 8 of us were present. spontaneously, we decided to have a little dance party, so dance we did! being the sentimental people we are, (not!) we decided to commemorate the moment, so i just had to pull out my camera!

trinity = winners

today trinity volleyball and soccer had matches for states. the girls beat trinity of raleigh in 3 quick games. the boys were still playing when volleyball finished, so we all headed outside. the game was so intense and went into double overtime. thankfully, the boys pulled out a win!

i love fall

today has been the prettiest day. i absolutely love this time of year. i love the falling leaves, the weather... really, this time of year is the best!

today i'm posting some of my favorite people pictures from the trip. i've been working on how to use manual focus, and i think i have just about figured it out!

nashville, day 4

today was day 4 in nashville aka our last day in the city of country music. we all felt that we had essentially eaten our way through nashville with all the great food, so we decided to go hiking. after a trip to radnor lake, we ended back at centennial park where we met back up with lacy. we walked and talked and of course, took pictures. we grabbed a quick lunch before heading back to the airport to fly back to chapel hill. i think we were all pretty sad to have to leave.

nashville, day 3

today was day 3 in nashville. there is so much to do in this city, so we had plenty to fill our day! today has definitely been our busiest day yet! our hotel is literally 3 minutes walking distance from vanderbilt's campus, so we were able to go borrow mary fletcher's car from the law school each day. so, after breakfast we headed over to vandy. before leaving for the day's adventures, we decided to explore vanderbilt's campus. it was absolutely beautiful. we even stumbled on adpi there. we met up with mary fletcher for lunch, and headed to eat at fido. fido is this awesome coffee place/restaurant. plus, taylor swift likes to eat there, which made eating there even cooler. after lunch, we met back up with julie, played around at centennial park, and then headed downtown to play tourists. for dinner, we met sallie's friend lacy from camp. we ate at cantina loredo before heading back downtown to go to some of the honkey tonk bars. it was quite the eventful day to say the least!

nashville, day 2

today was day 2 in nashville and also sallie's 21st birthday! we had a great day with so many different things going on. we started off by going to pancake pantry - the cutest and greatest place for brunch. we looked around at the little shops in the hillsboro district, and then headed to this other shopping center. let's just say that nashville has some great shopping. julie had parted ways with us earlier to go hang out with her friend nathan, so we met back up with them for dinner before catching back up with sallie's sister and heading to see wicked downtown!

nashville, day 1

today was the start of unc's fall break. after classes ended, sallie, callie, julie and i headed to rdu airport to catch our evening plane to nashville! it was such a quick flight! we were in tennessee in little over an hour. we decided to have a little fun this break and go somewhere, thus nashville! i am so stoked for this trip. i absolutely fell in love with nashville this summer, and I am so so excited to be back!

north carolina state fair

today i went to the state fair with some of the girls i live with. i've always heard rumors of how great it is - the fried food, the animals, the rides... well, today i got to experience it, and let me tell you: the fair is the greatest. it rained the whole time we were there, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time. we played games, rode rides, tried the food, petted animals, ran into friends... the list goes on and on.
