brown bear lodge: day III

today was our last day at the yl leader retreat. it was a great weekend - super relaxing and refreshing. it was definitely a great way to start the school year!

today we got to spend some qt with the other leaders. we spent time in worship and also got to just hang out. we spent a good while down at the lake, swimming and talking.

today begins the young life leader retreat. we're in tennessee and have the pleasure of staying at brad's parent's mountain house. it is beautiful, and so is the view!

end note: i can't wait to spend this weekend in an amazing place with amazing people.

mcmansion goes 80s

today was the first dance party at the ds. every year, i think sarah and i have gone, but this year is different. we actually are friends with the people living there, which makes it super fun. mcmansion decided to pull out all the stops and dress up in 80s attire. check it!

today i got to enjoy the company of these sweet friends. i love having company at the mcmansion -almost as much as i love showing people around the house!

mcmansion: cleaning day

today was not only the first day of class, but an epic cleaning day at the mcmansion. we organized, painted, scrubbed, and set things up.

end note: our house is finally presentable, so come visit!

no internet

today i get to apologize for the fact that the mcmansion's internet is down. hopefully it will be back up soon, so i can post pictures. i promise to come back and add them from each day because you know i am taking them! i just can't upload them at the monent!

today we went to maple view after dinner for a last night of freedom celebration. this couple rode their horses to get ice cream, and i thought it was the cutest thing ever. as they were leaving, the man said, "and they ride off into the sunset." it was like a movie.

fall fest 2011

today was fall fest 2011. fall fest is where the school closes down south road and lets all the campus organizations have booths and such so that freshmen can see what unc has to offer. there is also a ton of free food! i went tonight to help at the young life table. it was great to see and be able to catch up with everyone! plus,  i got to pretend to be a freshman all over again and benefit from everything the night had to offer!

end note: it wouldn't be fall fest without a performance from the clef hangers!

mcmansion is full

today everyone arrived at the mcmansion, and i couldn't be happier! i am so glad that the house is full, and it is certainly starting to feel like home. after dinner tonight, we decided to take a few pictures!

unc campus: carroll hall

today i'm going to begin by apologizing for my delayed blog posts. life is quite hectic currently with work, friends moving back to chapel hill, classes starting soon, house sitting and rush practice. i promise to be back on my game soon! this is a picture of the j school building - carroll hall. i'll be spending a good amount of time there in these next 2 years!

today i am going to offer up several complaints. i have not been on near as many bike rides this summer as i would have liked to go on. also, the summer is almost over! what in the world! while i'm on my complaining rampage, i'd like to say that it has been forever and a day since i've gotten to take pictures of people, so if you are a person (which i'm assuming you are) and are reading this, i want to take pictures of you! ok, that sounds weird. enough of my complaining. these are pictures from my bike ride with erin!

today jordan got to the mcmansion! i am getting so stoked as chapel hill begins to teem with life again. this means friends are coming back to school!

today i got to hang out with the kittens again. they are the craziest things ever, and love to get into anything and everything.

cows

today i am going to admit to the blogging world my love for cows. i think they are the funniest creatures. the other day when traffic was at a standstill in atlanta, there was a truck full of bovine beside my car. i mooed at them; they mooed at me. cows are quite friendly, you know. these are cows in hillsborough that i befriended.

kittens: ruth and berry

today i got to hang out with some 3 month old kittens. i'm watching them for the week while their family is abroad. they are the funniest creatures and get into everything - for example, the camera bag... now i fully understand the saying: curiosity killed the cat.

atlanta braves: bobby cox

today i am posting pictures from the braves game last night. we got in late after the game, so i'm just now getting around to it. the braves beat the cubs 8-2, and they had 5 home runs. before the game, they retired bobby cox's jersey. i felt like i missed out on the past 20 years of my life, not really knowing who he was! after the game, there were fireworks. needless to say, it was a great night.

hdr: downtown atlanta

today erin and i went downtown to explore while rob was at work. we took pictures in centennial park, and wandered around. we also got some good shopping in! later tonight we're going to the braves game!

today erin and i embarked on our journey to atlanta to visit rob! i really wanted to take pictures at lake lanier, so we stopped there.
